After a week spent in Chicago for family stuff with my wife, I am only too happy to be back in the beautiful, sunny warmth of warmy southern sunnyth california. Not that Chicago isn’t nice, but rain is stupid and has absolutely no place in the month of June.
And, yesterday, we reached the halfway point of our pregnancy! 20 weeks down, 20 (or so) to go. We still don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl, and aren’t planning to, so when I set out to start crocheting a banky, we agreed on the gender neutral tones of mint green and white.
It’s been awhile since I crocheted, and probably 4 or 5 years since I’ve sold any afghans or scarves, but it’s just like riding a bike made out of yarn, and it comes back quickly.
I’ll take this opportunity for an unsolicited product recommendation – I always used to get hand cramps on the first day back, but I got these new bamboo handled hooks, and my hands feel great, so if you’re crocheting, I highly recommend them!
