2012 Honda Civic – Shtetl Style

Maybe it’s because I just finished reading “The Yiddish Policeman’s Union,” or maybe it’s just because it’s spring, but when Honda announced a contest to write a theme song for the 2012 Honda Civics, all I could think of was Klezmer. There’s something so joyful about it even with all the minor chords and scales. Whether or not the people at Honda will necessarily want to identify their car with a bunch of animated dancing rabbis (courtesy of David B. Levy) and Klezmer, however,
is another story.

I know I wasn’t actually IN the marketing meetings, but I can only assume that when the Honda people got together and sponsored a contest, this video is EXACTLY what they were looking for.

UPDATE:

Vote for it here! A Joyous Celebration
