The below was written in 2008. Since then, Joel WON his trip to Africa, completing the collection of 7 continents. He also started a blog about luxury hotels and local bread called Hotels & Bread: because life is too short for 3-star hotels and no bread.
Here’s a little about me:
I have worked over 40 styles of job in my life.
Since leaving Dayton, Ohio at age 18, I have bounced around. Currently I’m either living in Yellow Springs, Ohio or Los Angeles, California. The Los Angeles time is spent vigorously pursuing my dream of being a comedy writer and also the weather’s nice.
My last regular job was working a graveyard shift front desk job at a 24 hour fitness. Making less money than I made at my first job out of high school.
And I find contests. Online video contests. Now I do that for a living. I have visited 6 continents on all-expense paid trips (if you can find one to Africa, PLEASE TELL ME! I NEED IT FOR THE COLLECTION!) The way I see it, learning to get people to vote for me in online video contests and building my contest army is just to pave the way for my eventual run for President of the United States.
